Challenges in the healthcare provision for migrants: A comparison between the UK and Germany
An increase in international migration over the last decades has had various consequences for the provision of public health care in European countries. Destination countries face many challenges, among others in migration-sensitive research and public health surveillance. The lectures provide insights into migrant health (care) data from Germany and the UK. Additionally, the categories used in epidemiological research on migrant health in both countries will be critically reflected from a sociological perspective.
The lectures will be in English. They are part of an International Workshop for young researchers (Klausurwoche) that is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The lecture is certified by the Bayerische Ärztekammer (2 CME-Points).
