Technology Ethics/ Digitalization
We deal with the evaluation of modern (medical) technologies from the point of view of ethical standards and values. Our understanding of technology ethics is closely linked to the social empirical research of social processes that are set in motion by the use of technology and that simultaneously shape the use of technology. Technology has always played a central role in medicine. With the use of artificial intelligence in diagnostics, the development of machine learning algorithms in brain-machine interfaces, but also with smartphone apps for health prevention, these are just a few of the current application contexts that we are investigating in depth from a technical-ethical, philosophical and social-empirical perspective.
