Teaching

Courses


At the institute teaching takes place in Ethics, History and Theory of Medicine and Medical Terminology. Individual faculty also teaches students in the application of research methods in the humanities and social sciences.


The majority of our teaching is anchored in the curricula of the degree programs at the Faculty of Medicine (programs: Medicine, Dentistry, Epidemiology, Public Health). In Medicine and Dentistry. In the pre-clinical study section we offer a training in Medical Terminology is offered in the first semester and a range of electives on medical ethics and medical history topics. Teaching in the interdisciplinary subject History, Theory and Ethics of Medicine takes place in the clinical section of Medicine and Dentistry. In addition, we teach Research Ethics or Public Health Ethics in the Public Health and Epidemiology study programs. Announcements of courses takes place via the LMU University Course Catalog or Open Campus.

Degree papers


Students can apply for a master's or doctoral thesis in History or Ethics in Medicine. Applications are possible at any time by e-mail. Please contact us with 1) a detailed cover letter stating your interest in the subject and 2) a tabular CV outlining your relevant prior experience.


Please note that the supervision capacity is currently very limited and only a few places are available.
